Chapter 2. Getting Started
This chapter explains all requirements of the Check Writer module, and how to get started using it.
2.1 Requirements
There are no special requirements your web server must meet in order to use the Check Writer module, unless you want to take
advantage of the automated commission statement generation feature. In order to use this feature, you must have a program called Lout
installed on your web server. You may download Lout by going to:
http://snark.ptc.spbu.ru/~uwe/lout/lout.html
Please note, most web servers will NOT have Lout installed. Please consult your web hosting company regarding this. If you own a dedicated web server, and have root
access, Envex Developments can install Lout for $80 USD.
2.2 First Time Setup
Once the Check Writer module has been successfully installed on your web server, you must first run First Time Setup. You can do this
by first clicking on the Check Writer link under the Installed Modules box in the bottom left hand side of your Admin Control Panel. Once there,
go to the Setup->First Time Setup menu.
If you have any questions regarding First Time Setup, please click on the green Help buttons beside the needed section. If you still have questions, please
submit a support request through the Customer Area.
